1. Beginning in April, the ULM Financial Aid Office will start to download ISIRs (Institutional Student Information Records).
- The ISIR contains the same information as your SAR. We will electronically receive your ISIR from the Federal Processor
- Beginning in April we will download ISIRs once a week.
- Once we receive your ISIR you will be mailed an information packet letting you know that we have received your ISR. Future requests will be sent to your TRIBE (email) account.
- The receipt of your ISIR marks the official beginning of the Financial Aid Office's processing of your aid.
2. Additional Information:
This step will be different for each student. In this step you will be required to submit further documentation before your aid can be processed. Some students will not need any further documentation, while others may have numerous issues that will need to be addressed. You will need to carefully monitor your TRIBE and ARROW accounts, so you will know if you need to submit additional documentation.
Verification:
Verification is a process in which our office must obtain additional documentation to ensure that the information you provided on your FAFSA is accurate. Approximately 30% of students are randomly selected by the Federal Processor for verification
If you are selected for verification, you will need to submit the following documentation:
- signed copies of you and your parents (if dependent) federal income tax forms
- W2 forms
- any schedules that were filed with your taxes
- You will also need to submit an institutional verification form which may be obtained by going to your ARROW account
- Other documentation may be required so be sure to review your TRIBE and ARROW accounts for additional information and forms.
- Any discrepancies that our office finds must be corrected and financial aid eligibility may be affected.
- You can check the status of your verification documentation by looking at your financial aid status on your ARROW account.
Your financial aid cannot be processed until you have completed the verification process.
SAP:
Federal regulations require that ULM establish policies to monitor the academic progress of students who apply for and/or receive federal financial aid. If you are not meeting these requirements you may have to submit an appeal before your aid can be processed. For further information on the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy and the steps to appeal click on the following link: SAP policy .
Your financial aid cannot be processed until you have completed the appeal form and the Appeals Committee has reviewed your appeal!
3. Awarding:
Once you have completed your FAFSA and you have submitted all necessary documentation (if required), you are now ready to be awarded aid. The awarding of aid is not the end of the journey. You must now accept your awards on ARROW. For more information on the awarding process please follow the link to the Awards page.
