Entrance Counseling
According to Federal Regulations, all students receiving a Federal Stafford Loan for the first time in their collegiate career must complete an Entrance Counseling Session.
The ULM Financial Aid Office requires that you complete this session BEFORE your loan is transmitted to your guaranty agency.
This Session will help you make better decisions about your borrowing habits, as well as inform you about your responsibilities as a borrower.
Federal Stafford Loans MUST be repaid.
REMEMBER:
- Keep good records of the amounts you borrow.
- Know that lender/guaranty agency may withhold processing fees.
- Know who your lender and servicing/guaranty agencies are.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, providing accurate and true information.
- Inform the FAO and your lender when you choose to cancel or reduce your loan amount.
- Inform the FAO, admissions, and your lender of changes in your contact information.
- Try to borrow what you anticipate needing on your initial application. This will reduce delays, confusion, and frustration for you during this process.
Entrance Counseling on the Web
You must complete your Entrance Counseling Session on the Web.
Be certain to read all areas and complete the quiz provided. The FAO will receive your result electronically and process your loan accordingly.
