Shelve books in the
general library collection and insure proper order of books on the
shelves. Keep the floor areas orderly |

Description of Duties and Responsibilities |
Learn the Library of Congress
Classification System. Shelve books in the general collection on
floors 2-5 of the University Library. Shelf read to insure
proper call number order. Shift books in overcrowded areas.
Assist patrons in locating needed books (as necessary). Keep
stack areas neat and orderly: straighten books on shelves, pick
up trash, pick up books left on tables, and push chairs to tables.
Perform other special duties as requested by supervisor. |

Job Qualifications |
Applicants must have the
ability to shelve books on high and low shelves. Must be capable
of moderate to heavy lifting. Must be dependable in attendance
and notify direct supervisor when absence is necessary. Must
perform all duties as instructed by their supervisor and abide by the
policies of the department. |
