Purpose of Job |
Assist
Reference/Instruction Librarians with the clerical tasks involved in
the preparation of resources for class instruction, presentations,
displays, etc.; maintain physical arrangement of the reference
collections and study area; assist users in locating materials. |

Description of Duties and Responsibilities |
Learn the Library of Congress
Classification System in order to shelve books in the reference stack
area, shelf read the reference collection, and shift books when space
becomes a problem. Assist librarians by photocopying materials
for presentations/instruction sessions, work with documents in the
computer (Microsoft Office, email, downloading and copying files), and
run errands within the library or other departments on campus.
Perform other special duties as requested by supervisor. |

Job Qualifications |
Applicant must have
basic computer skills. Must work effectively with staff and
patrons. Must be dependable in attendance and notify supervisor
when absence is necessary. Must perform all duties as instructed
by supervisor and abide by all policies of the department. |
